Doncaster has one Dixy Chicken, and it sits on Silver Street, the road most people in the city know for its bars and clubs. That location explains a lot about the shop: it opens around midday, stays open until 2am most nights, and does a lot of its trade after the pubs empty. If you are searching for a Dixy anywhere else in Doncaster, you are probably looking at an old listing or a different business with a similar name, and we cover both below.

So there was no single serious problem, just nothing that earned a 4 or 5. The shop has been trading as a Dixy for some time. A company called D C Doncaster Ltd was set up in April 2017 with its registered office at 12 Silver Street, and that company was later dissolved in 2018. The shop carried on, so it has changed hands or company names at least once since then, which is common for Dixy franchises.
Two names that cause confusion
Dixies Cafe on Sprotbrough Road in Sprotbrough is a separate cafe with no link to Dixy Chicken. It turns up in searches because the names are so close, so check the name on the sign before you go.
If you searched for “Dixy Chicken Doncaster Road”, you may have found an old Tripadvisor page for a Dixy on Doncaster Road in Scunthorpe. We could not find that shop on the North Lincolnshire hygiene register or on any delivery app, so we would treat it as closed.

The two sources disagree slightly on the opening time, so if you are going at lunchtime, noon is the safer bet. Either way, this is one of the later-closing Dixy branches we track, which suits Silver Street. When we checked, Uber Eats had delivery switched off for this branch and was showing it as collection only, so you may need to use Just Eat or walk in. The Chicken Steak Burger offer was the best value on the menu when we looked: two burgers for £5.99. At the other end, the Chicken Fillet Burger at £10.99 is high for Dixy. The same burger as a meal was £6.81 on the Radford branch’s own website in Nottingham, so compare before you order and ask what’s included.
Peri peri wings: buy the 8 or the 12

We searched the hygiene register for Rotherham, Barnsley, Wakefield, Scunthorpe, Worksop and the Bassetlaw area and found no other Dixy Chicken. The closest is Sheffield, about 20 miles away.
