Nottingham is a smaller Dixy city than Birmingham or Manchester. There are two shops you can walk into today: one in Radford and the other in Sneinton, plus a third that still appears on the official branch list but, as far as we can tell, has closed. People still search for the third one, and plenty of them head there only to find a different takeaway at the address.
On this page, we cover the two branches that are open and how they compare, and also tell you where you can go if you are outside the city and need some food. This is an independent guide, not an official Dixy Chicken site.
Every Dixy Chicken in Nottingham
Nottingham City Council has two Dixy shops on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) register, which we checked on 25 September 2026. Click a rating to see the inspection record.

Radford was reviewed in July 2026 and scored 5, with “very good” for how it manages food safety. Sneinton’s 3 means “generally satisfactory”: the inspector scored all three areas (food handling, cleanliness and management) at that middle level rather than finding one big problem. That inspection was in December 2025, so a newer rating may appear soon.
What happened to Mansfield Road?
The Dixy Chicken Midlands site also shows a branch at 25 Mansfield Road, NG1 3FB, near the city campus of Nottingham Trent University. We couldn’t find it trading. It is not on Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats, and only one takeaway is listed at that postcode on the FSA register: a kebab shop. We think the Dixy has closed or been sold, and the official listing hasn’t been updated yet. If you are aware of any changes, please tell us and we will update the page.

Derby is the closer option for most people in the west of the county, with branches on Normanton Road, in Alvaston and in Chaddesden. They’re all on our Dixy Chicken Derby page. We found no Dixy in Beeston, Mansfield, Hucknall, Ilkeston or Long Eaton.

Which branch is closest to you?
Alfreton Road runs from the city centre through Radford towards Hyson Green, so this branch is convenient for the student houses in Radford and Lenton as well as anyone in the north-west of the city. Deliveroo puts it in its city centre delivery zone. Sneinton Dale is on the east side, and Deliveroo groups it with Sneinton and Bakersfield. If you live in between, check both on your app, as delivery areas overlap.
Nottingham has around 48,000 full-time university students, roughly one in seven of the people living in the city, and a lot of Radford’s trade follows the term calendar.

Neither branch was open past midnight when we checked in September 2026, which is unusual for Dixy. If you want chicken late, Radford is the better bet. Hours often change on bank holidays, so our holiday opening hours guide is worth a look before Christmas.

The burger meal is almost a pound cheaper on Radford’s own website than on Just Eat. That pattern holds across the menu, because the apps take a commission and shops pass it on. Who runs Dixy in the Midlands?
The Midlands master franchise is believed to sit with Master Rights of Dixy Chicken Midlands Ltd, an active company registered in Solihull in 2019. Individual shops are operated by their own businesses, which is why Radford has its own ordering site and phone number, separate from the one on the official list.

Is there a Dixy Chicken in Nottingham city centre?
Not any more, as far as we can tell. Radford on Alfreton Road is the nearest, about a mile from the Old Market Square.
