If you’ve seen Dixy Chicken on TikTok, there’s a fair chance it was the Hanley branch. A chicken-shop reviewer who has been working his way round Dixy branches across the UK called the Stafford Street shop the best Dixy in the country, went back for more videos, and the shop now sells a box named after him. That’s brought a lot of new interest to what was already a busy city-centre takeaway.
This page covers Hanley, the newly registered shop in Burslem, and the five other Dixy branches within reach of Stoke, and what each one scored at its last hygiene inspection. It’s an independent guide, not an official Dixy site.
Every Dixy Chicken in Stoke-on-Trent
Stoke-on-Trent City Council has two Dixy shops on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) register, checked on 25 September 2026. Both are currently listed as awaiting inspection, but for different reasons.

Hanley isn’t a new shop. It has Google reviews going back to 2016, and its last inspection, in September 2025, gave it a 5 with top marks in every category. The business has since re-registered with the council, which usually happens when a shop changes owner or operator, and that resets the listing to “awaiting inspection” until an inspector visits again.
Burslem is a different story. It’s registered as a food business, but we couldn’t find it on Just Eat, Deliveroo, Uber Eats or social media, so it may not have opened yet. Treat it as coming soon until it shows up on an app.

Newcastle-under-Lyme is the closest alternative to Hanley and holds a 5. The Crewe shop opened on 8 February 2026, sharing a unit on Market Street with a sushi restaurant, according to Crewe Nub News, which called it Dixy’s first site in South Cheshire. We found no Dixy in Longton, Tunstall, Fenton, Stoke town, Leek or Stone.
Register checked on 25 September 2026. Takeaways open, close and change hands regularly, so confirm a shop is trading before you travel.
Don’t mix it up with Dixie Fried Chicken
There’s a separate takeaway called Dixie Fried Chicken on Broad Street in Hanley, a few minutes from Stafford Street. It has nothing to do with the Dixy chain, and some review sites muddle the two, so check the address before you trust a review or a star rating.
Why Hanley gets so much attention
The reviewer behind Heyman Food Reviews runs a series ranking Dixy branches around the country. Hanley topped it: he called it the best Dixy in the UK, came back during Ramadan and again for its fish and chips, and said plainly that not every Dixy is equal but this one was. You can now order a “Heyman’s Munch Box” on the shop’s Uber Eats menu.
Not everyone agrees. A different creator who reviewed the same shop in 2023 scored it 3.8 out of 10, and it averages 4 out of 5 on Deliveroo and Uber Eats rather than anything spectacular. Even so, it’s the only Dixy we know of with something like a fan following.

The sources for Hanley don’t agree, so if you’re heading there after midnight, check the app first. The Dixy Midlands website shows 8am to 6pm for every branch, which looks like office hours rather than shop hours, so ignore it.

Newcastle-under-Lyme was also running 20% off orders over £20 on Deliveroo when we looked, which makes it the cheaper of the two for a bigger order.
