The one that Just Eat features in the Dixy Chicken name, with some 600 reviews of 5 stars on average. The company behind it was set up at the shop’s address in November 2024. Tavistock Street is another type of takeout.
There’s a company called Halal Dixy Fried Chicken registered there back in 2009, and the menu now includes pizzas, kebabs, masala fish, and samosas, as well as fried chicken. No record of it being connected to the Dixy chain was found. Not a criticism on the food (which has over 600 ratings and scores 4.3 on Uber Eats), but the portions and pricing just won’t compare to the Dixy Chicken.

Both are rated 3, which means generally satisfactory. They’re also two of the busiest Dixy shops on Just Eat in this part of England: Northampton has over 5,000 reviews and Wellingborough nearly 2,000, both averaging 5 out of 5.
Is there a Dixy Chicken in Luton?
We couldn’t find one. There is still a Dixy Chicken listed on Park Street and a “Dixie Chicken” listed on Dunstable Road in the online directories but no Dixy business is registered on the FSA, and neither of these addresses appears on Just Eat, Uber Eats or Deliveroo. Dixie Peri Peri is located on Marsh Road on Deliveroo, but is a different brand. Bedford is the closest Dixy to Luton that we know of, and there were none to be found in Dunstable or Kempston.

Where the shops are
Midland Road is a road that heads from the railway station towards the town center, and the council have invested in the road recently, with it reopening in June 2025 as part of Bedford’s Town Deal, which cost £22.6 million. Tavistock street is on the north side of the centre and is a short walk. Most of MK40 is easily accessible to one or the other.
