Two branches publish a full size ladder on Deliveroo, and they show how much the price per wing drops as the portion grows. Erdington in Birmingham is the cheaper of the two at every size. Bournemouth charges more, which matches the pattern across its whole menu.

The maths is worth a look. At Erdington, three wings work out at about £1.16 a wing. Buy twenty and the price falls to about 60p a wing, close to half. At Bournemouth the same pattern holds, just at higher prices: £1.50 a wing on the 3-piece portion, about £1.12 a wing on the 8-piece. Small portions of wings are poor value at almost every chicken shop, and Dixy is no exception.
Plenty of branches sell one standard portion instead of a ladder. For groups, the wing Mega Deals are where the real value sits. Most branches run a 30-wing deal with three regular fries and a bottled drink, but the price swings a lot by branch, from £21.99 to £27.99 for what is basically the same box. One branch undercuts all of them on its listing, and one charges far more for fewer wings.

Read the table carefully before you order for a group. Erdington lists a Mega Deal at £19.99, the cheapest on any menu checked, although its listing does not state the contents, so confirm what is in the box at checkout. Of the deals with stated contents, Bearwood Road’s 30 wings at £21.99 is the best buy. Bournemouth sits at the other end: 20 wings for £33.49, ten fewer wings than the Birmingham deals for £11.50 more. Newtown’s deal also crept up: it was listed at £22.99 in an older menu crawl and is £27.99 now.

Honest answer: the published figures disagree with each other. Dixy does not publish an official nutrition table for the wings. Two branches, Brownhills and Newtown, list 121 kcal per Sizzler wing on Deliveroo. Other branches’ menu data implies a higher figure, around 180 kcal a wing, and one identical calorie total appears against different deals at different branches, which suggests some of the platform data was copied rather than measured. Treat 121 kcal per wing as the lowest published estimate, not a confirmed value, and expect the real figure to sit somewhere between that and 180 kcal depending on wing size.
